Here is a suggested itinerary for a vacation or honeymoon in southern France. If you travel with us, we will make sure we tailor yours exactly to your wishes!

Day 1: Historic Avignon
Visit the Palais des Papes, former seat of the Popes, and stroll cobbled streets. Shop the morning market and enjoy a picnic by the Rhône river.
Recommended extras

Add a stop in Villeneuve-les-Avignon, a quieter experience away from the crowds, just across the Rhône from Avignon.
You can climb the medieval Tour Philippe le Bel for panoramic views, or wander the peaceful cloisters of the Chartreuse monastery, one of France’s largest Carthusian complexes.
Or if you’re interested in Roman history and outdoor activities, visit the Pont du Gard, an ancient Roman aqueduct with epic views half an hour’s drive from Avignon. If the weather’s fine, you’ll have the option to kayak underneath it.
Day 2: Saint-Rémy, Arles & Les Baux-de-Provence
Explore Roman ruins and Van Gogh’s legacy in Arles and Saint-Rémy. End the day in Les Baux-de-Provence with panoramic views and medieval charm.
Day 3: Hilltop Villages & Lavender Trails

Discover breathtaking villages like Gordes and Roussillon.
If visiting in June or July, visit the lavender fields on the Valensole plateau or the Luberon Valley.
If you're in Provence in late July or August, the lavender should still be in bloom in Sault. We’ll guide you to the best photo spots and local artisans!
“We would like to give you a warm thank you for our absolutely amazing family trip to Provence. The memories still fill our hearts with impressions of this beautiful part of France! We definitely want to come back again to discover more regions with France Just For You”
– Valery, Mary & Alex
Day 4: Aix-en-Provence

The next stop on your honeymoon in southern France is an elegant town of fountains and leafy boulevards. Aix-en-Provence and Avignon are good options to use as a base for exploring the surrounding areas.
Take a day to enjoy the lovely town of Aix. Explore markets, sip rosé in a sunlit café, and enjoy a romantic dinner in a top restaurant (if you book with us, we'll recommend our favorites and can assist you in making a booking).
Art-lovers can visit Paul Cézanne's art studio and see the landscapes in the surrounding area that inspired many of his paintings.
Day 5: Cassis and the Calanques
Cassis is about a 45-minute to an hour's drive from Aix. You may even like to spend a night or two in or near Cassis if you'd like to spend more time enjoying this gorgeous coastal area.
In Cassis, take a boat trip to see the calanques or hike into Calanques National Park (there's parking just outside the park - arrive early to secure your parking spot!).
Head down to one of the creeks to swim in turquoise waters, or simply enjoy a scenic coastal walk. Some of our favorite calanques are pictured below!
Cassis Town Exploration
Return to the charming port of Cassis for fresh seafood and a golden-hour view of the harbor.

Day 6: Truffle Hunt, Cooking Class, or Wine Tasting
From Aix, it's easy to drive to other areas and have some off-the-beaten-path experiences. Join local guides and their dogs for a truffle hunt, enjoy a private cooking class in a vineyard, or taste fine rosé at Château Romanin.
Explore Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Menerbes, or Bonnieux
Spend half a day exploring more of the south of France's lovely villages. Enjoy antique shopping, café hopping, and peaceful strolls through these charming towns, a few of our favorite hidden gems in Provence.
“The B&Bs were all lovely and run by friendly & helpful hosts. We loved cooking with Chef Benoit at his parent’s vineyard, the private winery tour, mountain biking in Cassis and more! So many wonderful memories!”
– Jill, USA

Day 7: Drive from Provence to Nice on the French Riviera
Today you travel from Provence to the French Riviera, with optional stops in Grasse or Saint-Paul-de-Vence to break up the journey.
You will have some time to go to the beach, relax at your hotel or B&B and use the pool, or browse the high-end boutiques after you arrive.
Day 8: Nice Old Town & Promenade
Walk along the Promenade des Anglais, explore Vieux Nice, and take in the art and food scene with one of our favorite local guides.
Day 9: Eze, Cap Ferrat & Villefranche-sur-Mer
Enjoy the hilltop views across the Mediterranean coast from the Exotic Garden of Eze, wander the gardens of Villa Ephrussi, then enjoy a meal at the charming harbor of Villefranche-sur-Mer.

Day 10: Lérins Islands or Menton
Relax on a quiet island escape, just a short boat ride from Cannes. Île Sainte-Marguerite and Île Saint-Honorat have historical attractions, such as the prison where legend says the Man in the Iron Mask was held or a centuries-old abbey, where the monks make their own honey. There are also some very pleasant walks and picnic spots, away from the tourist crowds of the Riviera.
Alternatively, explore beautiful Menton, with its colorful seafront of pastel buildings and an Italian-French flair.
