Like New York, Paris weather changes according to the season. It can be extremely hot during the middle of the summer, and it can become quite cold during the winter, dropping to 32°F – 0°C. It does not often snow in Paris - if it does, it normally lasts for about a week in the French capital.

Spring and Fall weather in Paris

In the spring, there are beautiful blossoming trees all over Paris, while orange leaves will cover the sidewalks with color in fall. The weather in the springtime and fall guarantees you a wonderful visit to Paris. During this time, the average afternoon temperature in Paris is about 64°F (18°C) to 68°F (20°C).

Summer weather in Paris

Paris weather in summer is hotter: it can rise to 86°F (30°C), and occasionally as high as 90°F (35°C). If you don’t mind the heat, summer is a very nice season to discover Paris, as many Parisians are away on their summer break. Both the streets and public transportation will be less crowded. This is why we love being in Paris in the month of August: great weather, fewer people and a gorgeous city to stroll through on the long summer days, from dawn till dusk. Some travelers might be concerned about attractions or museums being closed in August, but don't worry; they stay open throughout the summer.

Winter in Paris

Ultimately, Paris is one of those cities that is charming to visit in every season. Winter has some nice sunny, cold days where you will be happy to step out of your cozy boutique hotel, stroll around the city and stop by some cafés for a coffee or hot chocolate. On sunny days, the temperature might be as low as freezing. On rainy days, the temperature is about 50°F (10°C) in the afternoon.

In 2013 I had 2 big reasons to plan a trip to France: a new grand baby boy in Avignon, and I wanted to surprise my husband with a trip to Normandy. He absolutely loves anything and everything he can find to read or watch that is related to WWII. So, I started exploring online for a custom tour designer that could put together a great itinerary for …

My husband was born in France and moved to Australia in 1970 when he was just 5. He went back for the last time in 1980 and had not returned since. In January 2017 I started to formulate an idea to surprise him with a trip back home. Being Australian, we love road trips but without his French language skills I felt a bit scared to start booking …
