The Sidecar is a classic Cognac cocktail. It is disputed as to who invented the delicious drink, but it is often linked to Harry MacElhone's 1922 cocktail book.

Ingredients (for 1 drink)

50ml Cognac

25ml Triple Sec (like Cointreau)

25ml lemon juice

Lemon (or orange) slices for decoration

Instructions

  1. Pre-chill the "coupe" glasses, and if you like, sugar the rim (which nicely offsets the tartness of the drink).
  2. Put all ingredients (except the lemon slices) in a shaker, add some ice and shake well until outside of shaker feels cold.
  3. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass, and decorate with a lemon slice.

Tip: if you have one of these, stay in the sidecar. Don't drive the motorcycle!

We had a wonderful experience with Laura and Emilie- they were very responsive to all of our questions and needs and helped us plan a fabulous trip! While we were there, they were also very helpful when we needed assistance with reservations or had questions about processes during COVID.
